What it takes

A number and a consent rule.

Bring a number you already publish or take a new one. The rest is the part the regulator cares about.

This is a conversation channel, not a broadcast list. It answers people who wrote to you.

01Point a number at itUse a vendor you already have, or take a new number through one. Two-way texting needs a real long number, not a sender name.
02Say who may be textedConsent is a field on the contact. STOP and its local equivalents are honoured automatically, and an opted-out number cannot be messaged by any agent.
03Give it the knowledgeThe documents it may quote, and how short you want it kept.

The part that isn’t ours

The number is yours, from somebody else.

Munin sends and receives the texts. It is not the carrier — the number lives with an SMS vendor you connect, on an account in your name.

Email and chat need no vendor. Voice and SMS run on the phone network, so they need an account on it. It stays in your name, so the number stays yours.
